Recognizing its potential to provide jobs, housing, recreational opportunities, and commercial space, the Town acquired the site of the former Maine State Prison and entered into a public-private partnership for its redevelopment.
TJD&A provided site analysis, conducted a weekend design workshop, and prepared the master plan for an exciting and visionary design. Woven into the fabric of the village by an extended street network, uses will include a community center, village scale retail, and a new riverfront neighborhood.
