Three different schematic plans for the popular Camden Public Landing were created through dynamic public workshops with broad-based community involvement.
Issues addressed include parking, open space, scenic overlooks, hospitality and wayfinding, safety and accessibility. The design solutions reflect the community’s desire to provide places for visitors and residents alike to gather and enjoy, in hopes that longer stays will result in increased support of the downtown businesses. The design team developed detailed cost estimates and also identified numerous funding opportunities.
A Riverwalk Master Plan was also developed for a two mile trail along the Megunticook River that connects open space, neighborhoods, village, and the Public Landing.
